Jay and I have embarked on a “TV-free” journey together and for those of you who know Jay well – this is a big deal. This is the man who was faithfully raised on Coronation Street every day after school/work, who jumps out of bed to watch football every Sunday (uh.. hello? what about sleepy mornings in bed? no chance!), and who says that having the TV on.. soooothes him – ??? Could we be any more different in this capacity?
I seized my opportunity with our move and told Jay that we were going to try something – crazy… NO CABLE. Now that doesn’t mean I am anti shows or movies. I mainly want the choice to be commercial free.
So, now we download (shhhhhh). Let me know if you have any favourite movies, TV series, documentaries that you’d recommend, and I’ll do the same.

Two words: “Good Hair”. Documentary hosted by Chris Rock about the culture of Black hair in the States. Hilarious and ever so enlightening.

Oooo. One more to add… we saw the movie “Shark Water” last night. Amazing Canadian documentary about the decimation of the world’s shark population. Can be depressing but it’s beautifully shot and very exciting.

Big Love, Friday Night Lights (I know, I know, high school football in Texas? seriously? But seriously, it’s really wonderful), Modern Family, Weeds, Boardwalk Empire, Band of Brothers, The Pacific. Enjoy!
