Fugitive Pieces

This is a book that has been on my shelf forever. I have packed it and unpacked it many times, always with the intent to commit to it. Well, the time has come and boy is it a gem. This book is beautifully written, in poetic prose that made me look at the world differently. An incredible feat for a first novel, Anne Michaels succeeds in drawing the reader into the resilient yet haunting world of those affected by the holocaust. I hope you read it.
